Privacy Policy
Last updated September 4, 2026
This policy explains what information TheCarGo collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We build software for brokers — your data, and your customers’ data, is something we take seriously.
1. Overview
TheCarGo provides a platform for auto transport brokers. This policy covers information handled through our websites, our software, and the TheCarGo Phone browser extension. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile details you provide (name, email, company, phone). Operational data you enter to run your brokerage — leads, quotes, orders, customers, carriers, and documents. Usage and device information collected automatically when you use the Service. Payment details, which are handled by our payment processors rather than stored by us directly.
3. How we use information
To provide, maintain, and improve the Service; to authenticate users and secure accounts; to process payments; to provide support; to send service and security notices; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your data.
5. Load board & payment integrations
When you connect Central Dispatch, Super Dispatch, or a payment processor, data is exchanged with those services to perform the actions you request. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
6. TheCarGo Phone browser extension
TheCarGo Phone is a Chrome extension that puts the softphone — calls, SMS, and your inbox — in a browser side panel. It requires a TheCarGo account and is intended for staff of a subscribing brokerage. When you sign in, your session and trusted-device tokens are kept in the browser’s extension storage on your own device so you stay signed in; they are cleared when you sign out or remove the extension. Calls and messages you place or receive through the panel are carried by our telephony provider and recorded against your organization’s account exactly as they are in the web app — number dialed, message content, timestamps, and call outcome. The extension requests microphone access only to carry the audio of a call you place or answer; that audio is streamed to the telephony provider for the length of the call and is not recorded by the extension. Notifications are used to alert you to incoming calls and messages.
7. Page access & click-to-call
To offer click-to-call, the extension looks for phone numbers in the text of the pages you visit and turns them into a call button. That scan happens entirely in your browser. Page content, page addresses, and browsing history are never sent to TheCarGo and are never stored by us; the only thing that leaves the page is the phone number you choose to call or text, which is handed to the dialer. We do not read or transmit the content of the pages you visit, we do not track your browsing across sites, and we do not use any of it for advertising.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
TheCarGo Phone’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell or transfer that information to third parties for advertising, we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the information has been aggregated and anonymized.
9. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a limited period to meet legal, accounting, or security needs. You can request export or deletion subject to those obligations.
10. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and per-user permissions and logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to limit who can view or export it.
11. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights; we may need to verify your identity first.
13. International users
If you access the Service from outside the country where it is operated, you understand your information may be processed there. We take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.
14. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
